Mia Farrow Wins 2011 Marian Anderson Award

Mia Farrow has won the 2011 Marian Anderson Award, which honors artists whose leadership on behalf of a humanitarian cause(s) or issue benefits society. The prize will be presented at a gala concert, produced in partnership with The Philadelphia Orchestra, to be held on May 10 at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

The actress’ stage credits include Romantic Comedy on Broadway and The Exonerated and Fran’s Bed Off-Broadway. Her film and television credits include Peyton Place, Rosemary’s Baby, The Purple Rose of Cairo, New York Stories, Hannah and Her Sisters, and Reckless.


In addition to her work as a performer, Farrow is an advocate for human rights. Her primary focus has been on conflict-affected regions in sub-Saharan Africa.
