John Goodman to Join Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Movie

John Goodman will join Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, according to a report in The New York Times. Stephen Daldry, as previously reported, is directing the film, which has a screenplay by Eric Roth.
The movie, based on a novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, focuses on a ten-year-old boy who loses his father (Hanks) in the September 11 attacks. Goodman will play the doorman in the apartment building where the boy lives, and who helps him as he deals with his grief.
Goodman’s stage credits include Big River and the Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Waiting for Godot on Broadway and the Public Theater’s productions of The Seagull and The Skin of Our Teeth in Central Park.
