Broadway Veteran Joe Namath One of GQ‘s "Coolest Athletes of All Time"

Broadway veteran Joe Namath has been named one of the 25 “Coolest Athletes of All Time” by GQ Magazine.

Namath, nicknamed “Broadway Joe,” during his time as a player for the New York Jets, was seen on Broadway in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial in 1983. In addition, he starred as the title character in a national tour of Li’l Abner, and appeared regionally in such musicals as Damn Yankees and Sugar.

Namath was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. Currently, he co-hosts the weekly show “The Broadway Blitz” on Sirius NFL Radio.

Among the other sports stars on the GQ list are Arthur Ashe, Bjorn Borg, Julius Erving, Michael Jordan, Evel Knievel, Arnold Palmer, Pele, and Kenny Stabler.
