Anthony LaPaglia to Star in Film Version of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge

Anthony LaPaglia will reprise his Tony Award-winning performance as Eddie Carbone in a film version of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Robert Connolly will direct the project, which will have a screenplay by Andrew Bovell.

Miller’s play focuses on the passions that flare when Eddie and his wife Beatrice take in her orphaned niece. The film is also set to feature Mia Wasikowska, Sam Neill, Vera Farmiga, and Sebastian Stan.

LaPaglia’s other stage credits include Lend Me a Tenor and The Rose Tatoo on Broadway, and The Guys, On the Open Road, and Northeast Local, Off-Broadway. Among his many film credits are Balibo, Winter Solstice, Lantana, and The Client. He may be best known for his Golden Globe Award-winning portrayal of Jack Malone on Without a Trace.
