Tom Wopat Returns to Broadway Chicago February 16

Tom Wopat will return to the Broadway company of Chicago, currently playing the Ambassador Theater, on February 16. He will once again play lawyer Billy Flynn, a part that he is currently portraying in the show’s national tour.

Chicago features a score by John Kander and the late Fred Ebb, including such hits as “All That Jazz,” “Mister Cellophane,” “Razzle Dazzle,” and “Nowadays.” The production is directed by Walter Bobbie with choreography by Ann Reinking. The musical won six 1997 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.

Additional Broadway cast updates will include Amra-Faye Wright, who will take over as Velma Kelly beginning February 2, and two-time Tony nominee Charlotte d’Amboise, who will once again portray Roxie Hart for a limited engagement beginning February 13 prior to joining the musical’s national tour on February 26, at Chicago’s Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
