Lincoln Center Festival 09 Announces Selections

Theatrical highlights will include two works at the Park Avenue Armory: Ariane Mnouchkine and Le Theatre du Soleil's production of a two-part work Les Ephemeres; and the Chekhov International Theatre Festival's production of Boris Godunov, performed in Russian with English supertitles, directed by Declan Donnellan and designed by Nick Ormerod.
Other theatrical offerings include the Katona Jozef Theatre's production of Anton Chekhov's Ivanov, to be shown at John Jay College's Gerald Lynch Theatre, to be performed in Hungarian with English supertitles; and Poland's Narodowy Stary Teatr's production of Krystian Lupa's Kalkwerk, starring Andrez Hudziak and Malgorzata Hajewska-Krzystofik as an obsessive scientist and his captive wife, also to be seen at the Gerald Lynch Theatre; Bela Pinter and Company's Peasant Opera, in Hungarian with English supertitles, at the Clark Studo Theater; Russia's Maly Drama Theatres production of Lev Dodin's Love and Fate, based on Vasily Groosman's novel, at the Gerald Lynch Theatre; and Carlo Goldoni's Trilogia della villeggiatura, co-presented by Italy's Picollo Theatro di Milano and Teatri Uniti, at the Rose Theatre at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Other participants in the festival include Shen Wei Dance Arts, Emanuel Gat Dance, Idir, Najat Aatabou, Justin Adams, Juldeh Camara, Issa Bagayogo, Dennis Russell Davies, Maki Namekawa, Dr. John, and Wardell Querzeque.
