Aaron Tveit, who has starred on Broadway as Fiyero in Wicked and Link Larkin in Hairspray, has been cast on the hit TV series Gossip Girl as wealthy Tripp Vanderbilt, according to a report on TVGuide.com.

In addition to his Broadway roles, Tveit is best known for his performance in the musical Next to Normal, in which he starred at both New York's Second Stage Theatre and Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage. He is scheduled to record the show's cast album next week. He also starred last year in the Playwrights Horizons' production of the musical Saved.

Gossip Girl, which revolves a group of Upper East Siders, stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley, Taylor Momsen, and Kelly Rutherford.
