The New York City Center Encores! Off-Center production of William Finn and James Lapine's A New Brain celebrated its opening night on June 24. Directed by Lapine and choreographed by Josh Prince, the production runs through June 27.

Inspired by William Finn's personal experiences, A New Brain is a medical tragedy seen through the iris of a Looney Tunes short. After struggling composer Gordon Michael Schwinn (Jonathan Groff) collapses mid-song, he is diagnosed with a brain tumor and is forced to come to terms with his creative ambitions and the people in his life. In addition to Groff, the cast includes Ana Gasteyer, Aaron Lazar, Tony winner Dan Fogler, Alyse Alan Louis, Josh Lamon, Jenni Barber, Rema Webb, Bradley Dean, and Quentin Earl Darrington.
