Flashback Friday: Matthew Morrison Used to Cut Loose…Footloose

TheaterMania pays tribute to the dancey musical on the eve of a concert reunion.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the original Broadway cast of Footloose will be reuniting on Tuesday, January 12, for a one-night-only concert at Feinstein's/54 Below. They'll be taking a musical stroll down memory lane all the way back to 1998 — the days when they were punching their card at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, kicking off their Sunday shoes, and throwing on some finely tailored pairs of '90s acid wash jeans.

There might not be quite enough room on the Feinstein's/54 Below stage to accommodate all of their sweet dance moves, so we decided to flash back to the real deal with a performance that tore up the Today show. And if you look closely enough at the ensemble, you'll spot a high-belting Orfeh and a pre-Glee Matthew Morrison sporting a blue camo T and shaking his hips like a Backstreet Boy.
