A new Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, will begin performances on November 17, 2015, TheaterMania.com has confirmed.

As reported in March of this year, Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel will serve as lead producers of the musical. At that time, Danny Burstein, who starred in Sher's revivals of South Pacific and Golden Boy and received Tony nods for his performances, had taken part in discussions regarding the leading role of Tevye. The revival is expected to feature choreography by Israeli-born artist Hofesh Shechter, based on the original Jerome Robbins material.

Based on the stories of Sholom Alecheim, Fiddler on the Roof features a book by Joseph Stein and a score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick. It tells the tale of Tevye the milkman, who tries to hold on to "tradition" as the world around him and his family in the little village of Anatevka changes.

The original 1964 Broadway production won eight Tony Awards, including best musical, book, and score. It was last seen on Broadway in 2004, starring Alfred Molina as Tevye and Randy Graff as Golde, with Harvey Fierstein, Andrea Martin, and Rosie O'Donnell eventually taking over the roles.

No theater or casting information for the 2015 revival has yet been made official.
