Grammy Award winner Brandy Norwood will make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago beginning April 28. The singer will play an eight-week engagement at the Ambassador Theatre through June 21.

Norwood has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. Her many singles include "I Wanna Be Down" and "The Boy Is Mine," which holds the titles for longest-running No. 1 song and best-selling duet of all time. As an actress, she starred in the sitcom Moesha and the Disney television film adaptation of Cinderella in the title role. She received a 2014 NAACP Image Award for her role as Chardonnay on BET’s The Game.

Chicago currently stars Grammy Award winner Jennifer Nettles as Roxie Hart and Carly Hughes as Velma Kelly through March 29. Beginning March 30, Emmy Award nominee Paige Davis begins a four-week engagement as Roxie Hart (through April 27) and Amra-Faye Wright returns to the company as Velma Kelly (through July 26). Chicago also currently stars Tony Award nominee John Dossett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines. This long-running revival is directed by Walter Bobbie.
