Tony nominees Laura Osnes and Jarrod Spector took part in a reading of a new musical called Bandstand earlier this month, and it's now setting its sights on Broadway.

The New York Post reports that the show, written by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, pleased its industry audiences and is now potentially on track for a Broadway bow.

Bandstand follows a young soldier (Spector) who returns home from World War II and enters a songwriting contest that can propel him to the life he dreams of. The principal company also included Beth Leavel.

Oberacker is the longtime conductor and musical director of Cirque du Soleil's Ka in Las Vegas. With Taylor, they are the authors of the musicals Ace and The Sandman: A Little Nightmare Musical.
