Another American Idol favorite is coming to Broadway.

Bo Bice, who gained national popularity on the fourth season of the FOX reality television series, is among the cast of the new Broadway production of the 1981 musical Pump Boys and Dinettes, which will begin previews on March 19 at Circle in the Square Theatre, with an official opening set for April 8. John Doyle, who won a 2006 Tony Award for his direction of Sweeney Todd, will helm the production.

First produced Off-Broadway, the show takes place somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna, North Carolina, where there stands nothing but a rest stop with a gas station and a roadside eatery. It was originally conceived and performed by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Tony Award winner Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann. That same cast later transferred to Broadway in 1982, where the show had a 573-performance run at the Princess Theatre.

In addition to Bice, the new cast will feature Broadway veterans Alexander Gemignani (Sunday in the Park with George), Erik Hayden (Million Dollar Quartet), Jane Pfitsch (Company), and Leenya Rideout (War Horse), as well as Justin Hosek (member of the country band The Ranchhands). All members of the cast will provide their own musical accompaniment.

Doyle also received a Tony nomination for his direction of Company and was last represented on Broadway by the musical A Catered Affair.
