Balls…the Musical? to Close Off-Broadway December 18

Balls…the Musical?, playing Off-Broadway at the Lion Theatre, will close one week early on December 18, citing the unavailability of a cast member.

The work, subtitled “A Bro-tastic Musical Parody,” is created by Bret Carr, Mick Bonde, Brandon Ellis, Michael “Tuba” McKinsey, and Nick Verina, who describe the “not so politically correct world” of the modern-day straight man in musical theatre. It was recently seen at the 2011 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Kasey Marino directs the production, which features original NYMF cast members Mick Bonde, Bret Carr, Brandon Ellis, and Will Ray, along with two-time Emmy Award-winner Nikkieli DeMone.

The creative team includes Sonny Paladino (music director), Abby Lee (choreographer/assistant director), Timothy Parish (lighting design), and Jessica Paz (sound design).
