The play, directed by Kenny Leon, is set in Martha's Vineyard, and centers on an upper class African-American family. The company features Rosie Benton (Kimber), Dulé Hill (Spoon), Mekhi Phifer (Flip), Condola Rashad (Cheryl), Tracie Thoms (Taylor), and Ruben Santiago-Hudson (Joe).
Keys is one of the producers for the Broadway production, and has also written original music for the show. She is a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, known for songs like "Fallin" and "Empire State of Mind," and the albums, Songs in A Minor, The Diary of Alicia Keys, and As I Am.
