Ars Nova has announced five of the theatrical offerings that it will be offering over an extended period during 2011.

The first of these will be The Wii Plays (February 1-12), which will be an evening of short plays and live music inspired by the titles of Nintendo Wii games. The pieces will be created by members of Ars Nova’s writers group, including Chad Beckim, Jenny Connell, Kara Lee Corthron, Kristoffer Diaz, Tasha Gordon-Solmon, Amy Herzog, Samuel D. Hunter, Matthew Lopez, Molly Smith Metzler, Gregory Moss, Janine Nabers and Joe Tracz. The pieces will be directed by Stephen Brackett, Portia Krieger, Laura Savia and Lila Neugebauer.

The theater will also present two works which it has commissioned: Bekah Brunstetter’s Be A Good Little Widow (April 20 – May 14), to be directed Stephen Brackett, and one by The Berserker Residents (August 30 – September 24), which will showcase the alternative theater group’s unique blend of humor and fright.

In addition to these events, Ars Nova will offer its second annual 54/10 Music Marathon (June 14 – 25), a showcase for new music acts; and its fourth annual ANT Fest (October 17 – November 19), which features a variety of new theater work.
