Tony Award nominee Margo Martindale has joined the cast of FX’s Justified, according to a report on TVGuide.com. The second season of the show is expected to premiere sometime in February.

Martindale will play Mags Bennett, the matriarch of the show’s Bennett family and a major figure in the show’s criminal world. The series is based on an Elmore Leonard short story, and focuses on a trigger-happy U.S. Marshal (played by Timothy Olyphant) who is assigned to his hometown in Kentucky.

The actress earned a Tony Award nomination for her portrayal of Big Mama in the 2004 revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which also starred Ashley Judd, Jason Patric and Ned Beatty, and first gained fame in the original Off-Broadway production of Steel Magnolias.

Among her recent television credits are Mercy, Dexter, and The Riches.
