Freda Payne and Denzal Sinclaire Join David Berger Jazz Orchestra for Sing Me a Love Song CD

Noted jazz singers Freda Payne and Denzal Sinclaire are featured on Sing Me A Love Song: Harry Warren’s Undiscovered Standards, a new CD from The David Berger Jazz Orchestra to be released on January 19.

Sing Me A Love Song features previously unrecorded and unpublished melodies by Harry Warren including “There Is No Music,” a rarely heard song which features lyrics by Ira Gershwin. The disc also includes an Italian waltz, “Positano Afternoon”; a Count Basie-esque instrumental, “Double Trouble”; and a Latin-infused “But Here We Are.”

Payne may be best known for her singles, “Band Of Gold” and “Bring The Boys Home.” In addition to her work as a recording artist, she toured with Quincy Jones during his big band era, performing at the Apollo in New York and the Regal in Chicago, among others. Sinclaire is a winner of the National Jazz Award, whose recordings include I Found Love, Denzal Sinclaire and his latest release My One and Only Love.
