Shuberts Name Smith and Wankel as New Co-CEOs

The Board of Directors of The Shubert Foundation, Inc. and The Shubert Organization, Inc. have named Philip J. Smith and Robert E. Wankel as Co-Chief Executive Officers of The Shubert Organization, Inc.

The appointments follow the recent death of Shubert head Gerald Schoenfeld, who died suddenly on Tuesday, November 25. Both men have held previous executive positions within the Shubert Organization for many years.

In addition, Smith was named Chairman of the Board of The Shubert Foundation and The Shubert Organization, and Wankel was elected a member of the Board of Directors of The Shubert Foundation and The Shubert Organization and was named President of The Shubert Organization.
