Recording artist Toby Lightman will join Melissa Errico, Lea Michele, Greg Naughton, Adam Pascal, and Daniel Reichard in a benefit concert presentation of Paul Scott Goodman’s Alive In The World at the Zipper Factory, January 13-14. The concert will be directed by Kurt Deutsch.

The musical is about living and loving in post-9/11 New York City. Six characters explore feelings of longing, loss, hope, fear and happiness. The show will benefit The Twin Towers Orphan Fund, which provides educational and welfare assistance to the children who were orphaned by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Goodman is best known for his musical adaptation of Bright Lights Big City. His other musicals include Him & Her and ROOMS.

The creative team will include Jim Abbott (music direction), Dan Knechtges (musical staging), and Herrick Goldman (lighting design). Deutsch is the co-founder of Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records, which has received five Grammy Award nominations, as well as a special 2006 Drama Desk Award.

Lightman’s albums include Little Things and Bird on a Wire. Errico received a Tony nomination for Amour. Michele is currently starring on Broadway in Spring Awakening. Naughton appeared in the 2006 NYMF development production of Alive in the World. Pascal earned a Tony Award nomination for Rent. Reichard currently stars as Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys and will appear later this spring in the New York City opera production of Candide.
