Henry Krieger, composer of Dreamgirls, will speak following a performance of the musical on January 10 at 7pm at the Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia. Albert Innaurato, the company’s playwright-in-residence, will facilitate an
informal conversation with Krieger on stage.

In addition to Dreamgirls, Krieger wrote the scores for Side Show, The Tap Dance Kid, Lucky Duck, and the upcoming Broadway musical based on the film Moonstruck. He is also currently working on the hotly anticipated movie version of Dreamgirls, starring Beyonce, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, and Jamie Foxx.

Dreamgirls‘ run at the Prince was recently extended through January 15. This revival of the 1981 Broadway musical about a Supremes-like singing trio features direction by Richard M. Parrison’s Jr., choreography by Mercedes Ellington, set design by Todd Edward Ivins, and costume design by Mark Mariani. The cast is headed by Nova Y. Payton as Effie, Kevyn Morrow as Curtis, Chaunteé Schuler as Deena, CJay Hardy Philip as Lorrell, Alexis Sims as Michelle, and Eugene Fleming as James Thunder Early.
