A new production of john & jen, Andrew Lippa’s acclaimed 1995 Off-Broadway musical, will be presented at the Lamb’s Theatre from January 6 through 28.

This inaugural show by December 2nd Productions will star Matte O’Brien and Louise Stewart, and will be directed by Marc Eardley. The creative team includes Casey Smith (set design), Pamela Kupper (lighting design), James Wilcox (sound design), Kristie Herlong (costume design), and Brandon Sturiale (musical direction).

The musical spans four decades, beginning in the 1950s. The first act focuses on the relationship between young Jen and her brother John, which is severely tested when they find themselves in conflict over the Vietnam War. The second act concerns a much older Jen and her son John. In the original production, which also played at the Lamb’s, the title roles were played by Carolee Carmello and James Ludwig.
