The Broadway revival of Wonderful Town, the 1953 show with music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and a book by Joseph Fields and Jerome Chodorov based on stories by Ruth McKenna, will have its final performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on January 30. At the time of its closing, Wonderful Town will have played 16 previews and 507 regular performances.

Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, who won a Tony Award for her dances, the production is based on the 2000 City Center Encores! presentation of the show. It features scenic design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, and lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski. In addition to star Brooke Shields, the current cast includes Jennifer Hope Wills, Gregg Edelman, Peter Benson, David Margulies, Raymond Jaramillo McLeod, and Ray Wills.

The producers of Wonderful Town stated, “We are very proud to have presented this ‘wonderful’ musical, which was and is a tribute to our great city of New York. The glorious music, the smart and savvy lyrics, and the talent of the entire cast brought joy to audiences nightly.”
