Playwrights Horizons celebrated the opening night of Kirsten Greenidge's Milk Like Sugar with a party at West Bank Cafe on Tuesday, November 1.
The play concerns 16-year-old Annie, an inner-city girl who struggles between the pregnancy pact she made with her friends and her need to carve out a life beyond the only one she knows.
The company features Cherise Boothe, Angela Lewis, LeRoy McClain, J. Mallory-McCree, Nikiya Mathis, Adrienne Moore, and Tonya Pinkins. Rebecca Taichman has directed the production.
Among the guests at the opening night celebration were LaChanze and Lynn Nottage.
