HBO has moved up the premiere date for new series Luck to December 11, according to a report in Variety. The premiere will now immediately follow the Season 2 finale of Boardwalk Empire. The episode will provide a sneak peek at the new show, which will officially kick off in January.

As previously reported, the series stars Dustin Hoffman, and is an inside look into the world of horse racing. The cast also features Patrick J. Adams, Joan Allen, Kerry Condon, Ritchie Coster, Kevin Dunn, Dennis Farina, Jason Gedrick, Michael Gambon, Ian Hart, Jill Hennessy, Richard Kind, Nick Nolte, John Ortiz, Tom Payne, and Gary Stevens.

The series is written by David Milch, and directed by Michael Mann.
