Village Light Opera company has announced principal casting for Gilbert & Sullivan’s Iolanthe, to run November 19-21 at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University. Emily Cornelius will direct the production, which will have musical direction by Jamie Ratcliffe.

The operetta centers on an exiled fairy who returns from her swampland to meet her son, who has married a mortal and whose marriage sets the scene for conflict between the denizens of the fairy world and the more somber ones of this world.

The company will feature Megan Marod in the title role, as well as Tadzio Smith (Strephon), Natalia Salemmo (Phyllis), Minda Larsen (Fairy Queen), and Martin Everall (Lord Chancellor).
