Bernadette Boerckel, Colte Julian Featured on Midnight Frolic: The Broadway Music of Louis A. Hirsch CD

Colte Julian and Bernadette Boerckel, along with The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, are featured on Midnight Frolic: The Broadway Theater Music of Louis A.Hirsch
, now available from New World Records.

The album features seventeen previously unrecorded pieces from Hirsch, who wrote eighteen musicals and revues between 1911-1924, collaborated with such lyricists as Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse, and had his work introduced by such performers as Al Jolson, Will Rogers, W.C. Fields, and Mae West.

Among the selections on the CD are “The Wedding Glide,” “Mary,” and “The Love Nest.” “Overture to Ziegfeld Follies of 1915,” “When I Hear a Syncopated Tune,” and “The Ziegfeld One Step.”
