David Margulies, Richard Masur, and Keith Nobbs will star in a free reading of Peter Morris’s play Bad News for Jews at the Ars Nova Theater (511 West 54th Street) on Monday, November 14 at 7pm. The reading, to be directed by Trip Cullman, is part of the Out Loud series presented by Ars Nova and The Underwood Theater.

In the play, two old Jews in Chicago plan to execute a man whom they believe had been a member of the Nazi party; but when a young Northwestern graduate gets mixed up in the scheme, they must defend themselves before the harshest of juries.

Margulies has appeared in more than a dozen Broadway shows, including Conversations With My Father, 45 Seconds From Broadway, and Wonderful Town. Masur was last seen on Broadway in Democracy and starred in the Manhattan Theater Club production of Sarah, Sarah. Nobbs will soon be seen Off-Broadway in Dog Sees God; his stage credits include Romance, Dublin Carol, Four, and Fuddy Meers.

Morris, a writer-in-residence at the London Academy of Music and Art, is the author of Guardians, The Age of Consent, and Marge. Cullman directed Swimming in the Shallows and The Last Sunday in June Off-Broadway and is currently represented by Manic Flight Reaction. He is the director of Dog Sees God and the upcoming show The Wooden Breeks.

Reservations for the November 14 reading are required; call 212-977-1700 for information.
