Signature Theatre has announced that Academy Award nominee Amy Irving will join American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Herman Cornejo, prima ballerina assoluta Alessandra Ferri, and pianist Sarah Rothenberg in the world premiere of Martha Clarke's Chéri. The new production will play from November 19-December 22 with a December 8 opening night on the Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Martha Clarke will direct and choreograph.

Chéri is inspired by the classic 1920 novella by controversial French author Colette, and it features a text by Tina Howe. Chéri tells a story of forbidden love between a young man and an older woman in Belle Époque Paris and examines preoccupations with youth and age.

The creative team includes David Zinn (scenic and costume design), Christopher Akerlind (lighting design), Arthur Solari and Samuel Crawford (sound design), and Sarah Rothenberg (music supervision).
