LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater’s programming initiative for new artists and new audiences, has announced two new productions for 2013. Kirsten Greenidge’s Luck of the Irish will play January 28-March 10, and A Kid Like Jake by Daniel Pearle will run June 2-July 14, both at the Claire Tow Theater.

Directed by Rebecca Taichman, Luck of the Irish is the story of an upwardly mobile African-American couple who managed to buy a home in an all-white neighborhood of 1950’s Boston and the Irish family who want “their” house back. The design team will include Mimi Lien (set design), Oana Botez (costume design), Justin Townsend (lighting design), and Matt Tierney (sound design). Casting will be announced at a later date.

In A Kid Like Jake, which will be directed by Evan Cabnet, Alex and Greg want only the best for their precocious four year-old, Jake, but when they apply to New York’s elite private schools, part of what makes Jake special – his passion for Cinderella and dress-up – starts to cause concern. The cast and design team for A Kid Like Jake will also be announced at a later date.
