Debby Boone, Jason Danieley, Rebecca Luker and More to Sing for Lyrics and Lyricists

92nd Street Y has announced the performers set for the previously announced 2013 season of Lyrics and Lyricists. The season is curated by artistic director Deborah Grace Winer.

The season will feature Jason Danieley and David Garrison performing in The Very Model of a Modern Major Lyricist: W. S. Gilbert and the Broadway He Inspired (January 12-14), with artistic direction by Rob Fisher, direction by Gary Griffin, and host Sheldon Harnick. Next, Give Me Fever: The Many Voices of Peggy Lee (February 23-25) will star La Tanya Hall, Gabrielle Stravelli, Billy Stritch (artistic direction, co-writing, piano), and Marilyn Maye as well as Mark Waldrop as a director and co-writer. In the spring, David Loud will host and artistic direct Taking a Chance on Love: The Music of Vernon Duke (April 6-8), featuring Heidi Blickenstaff and Rebecca Luker.

Karrin Allyson, Debby Boone, Jeffry Denman, Jay Leonhart, James Naughton, Paula West, Karen Ziemba, and special guest Barbara Carroll will be featured in The Song is You: Jerome Kern Coast to Coast (May 4-6), with artistic director Deborah Grace Winer as host, John Odda as music director, and direction by Mark Waldrop. Finally, Mark Lamos will be the artistic director of Brush Up Your Shakespeare: The bard and the Broadway Musical (June 1-3), with musical direction by Wayne Barker and a cast that is to be announced.
