Ripley won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in Next to Normal. Her other Broadway credits include Side Show, The Rocky Horror Show, The Who's Tommy, and Les Misérables.

She will soon appear Off-Broadway in Paula Vogel's ''A Civil War Christmas ''at New York Theatre Workshop.
