Stage Door Records will release the original 1961 Australian cast recording of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music on November 14, marking the first time the album has been available on CD.

The recording features June Bronhill in the role of Maria and Peter Graves as Captain Von Trapp, along with Lola Brooks, Julie Day, Tony Jenkins, Rosina Raisbeck, and Eric Reiman.

In addition to the 17 tracks from the cast album recorded at the Melbourne’s Princess Theatre, where the production played, the disc will also include four studio tracks that Bronhill recorded of songs from the show, as well as renditions of the score’s classics Petula Clark, Ken Dodd, Edmund Hockridge, Joan Regan, Dickie Valentine, and Mark Wynter.
