Nominees have been announced for the Gotham Independent Film Awards, which will be presented in New York on November 28.
The films Beginners, The Descendants, Meek’s Cutoff, Take Shelter, and The Tree of Life, are nominated for Best Feature.
Among the stage performers who are nominated, for individual and/or ensemble work, are Christopher Abbott, Mary Birdsong, Jessica Chastain, Hugh Dancy, Maria Dizzia, Vera Farmiga, Judy Greer, Jeremy Irons, Felicity Jones, Aasif Mandvi, Ewen McGregor, Sarah Paulson, Christopher Plummer, Zachary Quinto, Kevin Spacey, Michael Shannon, and Stanley Tucci.
The awards will also honor actors Charlize Theron and Gary Oldman, director David Cronenberg and Tom Rothman, chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment, with career tributes.
