On Friday, October 8, world-renowned attorney Alan Dershowitz came out to see David Bertolino’s The Deep Throat Sex Scandal, which opened on Sunday at the Bleecker Street Theatre with Jerry Douglas at the helm.

Dershowitz, who teaches at Harvard Law School, represented the defense in the legal battle that developed over Gerard Damiano’s 1972 pornographic film staring Linda Lovelace and Harry Reems, Deep Throat. The play takes the audience behind the scenes of the making of the film, through the raids, arrests, and the banning of the film, to the political fallout of the ensuing courtroom drama.

The cast features Lori Gardner as Linda Lovelace and Malcolm Madera as Harry Reems, along with Graham Stuart Allen, Frank Blocker, Stephen Hope, John-Charles Kelly, Rita Rehn, and Zach Wegner.
