Marvin Hamlish to Perform at The Community Theatre’s Fundraising Gala

Tony Award winner Marvin Hamlisch will perform at The Community Theatre at the Mayo Center for the Performing Arts’ annual Starlight Ball Gala on November 14 at the Morristown Hyatt. The event will honor William J. Marino, a board member of the theater and president and CEO of Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey.

In addition to Hamlisch’s performance, the event will feature a sit-down dinner, silent auction, dancing, a performance by the Theatre’s Performing Arts Company and a raffle. This Gala will also include a live auction for three once-in-a-lifetime items donated by Hamlisch, including the opportunity for an in-home performance from the multiple award winning composer.

Hamlisch, who won a Tony for his music to A Chorus Line and is writing the music for the forthcoming The Nutty Professor, scored movies such as The Way We Were and The Sting.
