Gypsy of the Year to Be Held at New Amsterdam Theatre December 8 & 9

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will present the 20th annual Gypsy of the Year competition at the New Amsterdam Theatre on December 8 & 9.

At the event, New York’s most talented “gypsies,” chorus members from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, join in a competition/variety show as six weeks of intensive fundraising to benefit Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) come to a close.

In addition, this year will see the return of “Team Raiser,” an online fundraising method introduced last year that allows fans to make donations to BC/EFA via the Broadway Cares website. Those who make online donations can enter to win special prizes which include autographed Playbills signed by the casts of All My Sons, Equus, and Shrek; roundtrip plane tickets; and a New York City weekend getaway.
