Lauren Kennedy will replace Sara Ramirez as the Lady of the Lake in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Monty Python’s Spamalot on December 20. She will join the cast on the same day that Simon Russell Beale replaces Tim Curry as King Arthur and 18 days after Hank Azaria returns to his role(s) in the show after a six-month absence.

Kennedy has been seen on Broadway in Side Show, Sunset Boulevard, and Les Misérables. Her other theater credits include the Royal National Theatre production of South Pacific (in which she played Nellie Forbush), Waiting for the Moon, and The Last 5 Years. She has recorded a solo album of songs by Jason Robert Brown, composer-lyricist of The Last 5 Years, and guest stars on his new CD Someone Else’s Clothes. Kennedy has also sung in concert with her husband, Broadway star Alan Campbell.

Spamalot won three 2005 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. In addition to Curry and Ramirez, the show currently stars David Hyde Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Christopher Sieber, Steve Rosen, Michael McGrath, and Christian Borle.
