Playwrights Horizons Extends Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play

The futuristic Simpsons-themed production extends its off-Broadway run.

Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension for its New York premiere production of Anne Washburn’s Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play. Originally scheduled to run through October 6, the production will now offer two additional weeks of performances, running through October 20.

Set in the aftermath of a worldwide electric apocalypse, the play follows a handful of survivors who maintain their sanity by recalling and reenacting the 1993 Simpsons episode “Cape Feare.” Directed by Steve Cosson, the production stars Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Susannah Flood, Gibson Frazier, Matthew Maher, Nedra McClyde, Jennifer R. Morris, Colleen Werthmann, and Sam Breslin Wright.
