The producers of the new musical Hands on a Hardbody announced today that choreographer Benjamin Millepied has withdrawn from the production due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. Tony award nominee Sergio Trujillo will assume musical staging responsibilities for the show.

Theatre, dates, and ticket information for the Broadway production of Hands on a Hardbody will be announced shortly.

With direction by Neil Pepe, and a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright, lyrics by Amanda Green, and music by Trey Anastasio and Amanda Green, Hands on a Hardbody tells the story of ten economically-strapped strangers who embark on a journey that puts their hearts, minds, and bodies to the test when an auto dealership in Longview, TX launches an endurance contest.

The world premiere production of Hands on a Hardbody opened Saturday, May 12, 2012 at La Jolla Playhouse and played a limited engagement there through Sunday, June 17, 2012.
