Richard Gere to Be Honored at International Rome Film Festival

The International Rome Film Festival will honor stage and screen veteran Richard Gere with the Marcus Aurelius career award, according to the Associated Press.


During the festival, which runs from October 27 to November 4, Gere will talk about his early career and working on Terrence Malick’s 1978 film Days of Heaven, which will be screened during the festival.


Gere received a Theatre World Award in 1980 for Bent, and also appeared on Broadway in Grease, Habeas Corpus, and Soon.


He received a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in the film version of Chicago and his many other films include An Officer and a Gentleman, American Gigolo, Pretty Woman, and Unfaithful.
