Matthew Broderick, Harvey Fierstein, Joel Grey, Bebe Neuwirth, and Brooke Shields will be among the stars participating in Broadway Unites: 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, to be held in Duffy Square on Friday, September 9 at 4pm.

They will be joined by cast members from numerous Broadway shows to sing Kander & Ebb’s “New York, New York,” which the Broadway community also performed 10 years ago in the aftermath of 9/11. The song will follow NYPD Officer Daniel Rodriguez’s operatic rendition of “God Bless America.”

Denis Jones, who participated 10 years ago as a Broadway cast member, is returning this time as director/choreographer. Musical Director is Phil Reno, and the performance will be accompanied by a 29-piece live orchestra.

Scheduled speakers at the ceremony include Paul Libin, Chairman of The Broadway League; Bob Wankel, Chairman of the Times Square Alliance; and David Paine and Jay Winuk, Founders of My Good Deed, Inc.
