Yussef El Guindi, Lisa Peterson, Betty Shamieh, et al. Set for Noor Theatre’s Reading Series

Noor Theatre has announced the plays that will be presented as staged readings this fall as part of its inaugural Highlight series. All of the performances will be held at the Fourth Street Theatre.

Sevan Kaloustian Greene’s Forgotten Bread will be the first offering on September 13 at 7:30pm. Directed by Johanna McKeon, the play focuses on a man trying to discover his family’s past and reclaim his identity. The company will feature Noel Allain, Jacqueline Antamarian, Kim Morgan Dean, Ramsey Faragallah, Sevan Greene, Piter Marek, Michele Rafic, Peter Sabri, Sona Tatoyan, Tamar Vezirian, and Audra Wahhab.

Other plays in the series will be Yussef El Guindi’s Jihad Jones and the Kalashnikov Babes, to be performed in October and directed by Pippin Parker; Mona Mansour’s The Hour of Feeling, directed by Sharon Lennon and offered on November 15; and Betty Shamieh’s Fit for the Queen: A Tragicomedy, to be performed on December 13 and directed by Lisa Peterson. Complete casting will be announced at a later date.
