Mark Blum, Peter Friedman, Meredith Holzman, David Margulies, Katharine Powell, Lois Smith, Elliot Villar, and Mare Winningham will star in the New York premiere of Amy Herzog’s After the Revolution. Carolyn Cantor will direct the play for Playwrights Horizons, with performances from October 21 through November 28, and an opening on November 9. The production reunites the complete, acclaimed cast from this summer’s world premiere at Williamstown Theatre Festival.

In the play, the brilliant, promising Emma Joseph (Powell) proudly carries the torch of her family’s Marxist tradition, devoting her life to the memory of her blacklisted grandfather. But when history reveals a shocking truth about the man himself, the entire family is forced to confront questions of honesty and allegiance they thought had been resolved.

The production will feature scenic design by Clint Ramos, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Ben Stanton and sound design by Fitz Patton.
