Metropolitan Opera to Offer Free Dress Rehearsals of Boris Godunov, Le Comte Ory, and Nixon in China

The Metropolitan Opera has announced its fifth season of free open dress rehearsals.

The first rehearsal will take place at 11am on Friday October 8 for the company’s new production of Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, starring bass René Pape in the title role and directed by Stephen Wadsworth. Boris Godunov opens on October 11 and runs through October 30, returning for three performances starting March 9.

The second dress rehearsal will be held Monday, January 31 for the company’s new production of John Adams’s Nixon in China, directed by Peter Sellars; and the third dress rehearsal will be on Monday, March 21 for Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher’s new production of Rossini’s Le Comte Ory, starring Juan Diego Florez.
