Jenny Gulley Wins Be the Next Dorothy Competition for Off-Broadway WiZaRD Musical

Jenny Gulley has won the previously announced Be the Next Dorothy competition. She will be appearing as Dorothy in George Bugatti’s WiZaRD, scheduled to begin performances in December at New World Stages, rather than the previously reported Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The competition, which was open to all girls across the country between the ages of 14 -23, began on July 31 at the Glendale Galleria in Glendale, California and concluded on Thursday, September 2 at the South Street Seaport in New York City.

The musical is centered on the works of Wizard of Oz composer Harold Arlen. The show unfolds in the mythical radio studios of W-Z-R-D. There, Wendell Owens, host of the radio show Absolutely Arlen, weaves stories through production numbers, with the help of WZRD’s in-house radio players.
