Oprah Winfrey to Bring Talk Show to NYC’s Central Park; Jersey Boys and Mad Men to Appear on September 21 Show

Oprah Winfrey will bring her talk show to New York’s Central Park Summerstage on Friday, September 18. Scheduled guests include pop superstar Mariah Carey, who is expected to perform a song from her new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, along with fellow talk show hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa. In addition, Winfrey will announce her 63rd Book Club selection.

In other news, the Chicago company of the hit musical Jersey Boys, Michael Cunio, Michael Ingersoll, Dominic Scaglione, Jr. and Shonn Wiley, will appear on the September 21 edition of The Oprah Winfrey Show. The episode will be a salute to the 1960s, and will also include Jon Hamm and January Jones, the stars of AMC’s hit series Mad Men.

Winfrey is the lead producer on the musical The Color Purple, based on the movie in which she played Sofia, which is currently touring the country. The Broadway production played over 900 performances and received 11 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.
