Casting Calls Scheduled for Broadway Revival of Grease

Dates for open casting calls for the roles of Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski in the upcoming Brodway revival of Grease have been set. The competition for these roles will be seen as part of the new NBC-TV reality series You’re The One That I Want. The revival, to be directed by Kathleen Marshall, is expected to open in June 2007.

Auditions will take place at the Portage Theater in Chicago (4050 N. Milwaukee Avenue) at 8am on Friday, October 20; at the Palace Theater in New York (1564 Broadway) at 8am on Friday, October 27; and at Venice High School in Los Angeles (1300 Venice Boulevard) at 8am on Friday, November 10. In all cases, callbacks will be held on the two days following the open call.

The producers are seeking individuals 18 years of age and older with singing, acting, and dancing abilities. Candidates are asked to be prepared with two songs: one from a selected list of Grease songs, the other any non-Grease song of their choice. The first candidates in line will be given priority wristbands and are guaranteed to be seen; those who do not receive wristbands will be allowed to audition if time allows.

Prospective audtionees can visit www.NBC.com for further details and a complete list of approved songs.
