Broadway Gospel Celebration to Feature Deborah Cox

Broadway Gospel Celebration:11, a special evening of gospel music featuring the Broadway Inspirational Voices, will take place at Town Hall on Sunday, October 16 at 8pm. The event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Star Jones Reynolds, co-host of the ABC series The View, will host the concert, which will feature a special guest appearance by R&B singer Deborah Cox. She appeared on Broadway in 2004 in the title role of Aida.

The Broadway Inspirational Voices was founded by actor Michael McElroy, who received a Tony Award nomination for his work in the Broadway revival of Big River. It is currently made up of more than 40 singers, many of whom are appearing in the casts of current Broadway musicals. The group received a Grammy Award nomination for their CD Great Joy: A Gospel Christmas, which was released in 2003.
