Matilda The Musical has announced that Broadway veterans Craig Bierko (Guys and Dolls) and Jill Paice (Curtains) will join the cast in the roles of Miss Trunchbull and Miss Honey respectively. The two actors will officially take on their roles September 3 when current actors Bertie Carvel and Lauren Ward leave the production.

The musical, which originated in London, is based on the beloved children’s novel by Roald Dahl. It features a score by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Kelly and stars four young leading young ladies: Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon, and Milly Shapiro, all of whom share the title role. Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage) directs.

Matilda The Musical has received four Tony Awards and a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater for each of the four girls sharing the title role. The London production also won an Olivier Award.
